The First Appearance: Genesis 2:4
In Genesis 1, God is called Elohim (the mighty Creator). In Genesis 2:4, the personal name appears for the first time — “Yahweh God” — joining the title of power with the name of intimate relationship.

Genesis shows Yahweh speaking the universe into being, forming the man from the dust, and breathing life into him. He is not a distant architect but a present, personal God who walks in the garden “in the cool of the day.”
Yahweh the Covenant-Maker
